Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect only what we need to run the service, we encrypt your Planning Center connection, the widget on your website does not track your visitors, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
PCOWidget is operated by Comp Edge Solutions. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your church or organization name, contact email address, and the website domain where your widget will run.
Your Planning Center connection. When you click Connect with Planning Center, you approve access on Planning Center’s own sign-in page, so we never see your Planning Center password. Planning Center then gives us access tokens, which we encrypt with AES-256 before storing. Accounts created before that option existed use an Application ID and Personal Access Token instead, stored the same way. These are never sent to a browser. We use them only to read your church’s calendar from Planning Center, together with the settings needed to display it: your organization’s timezone, tag groups and campuses. Recently fetched calendar data is kept briefly, for about a minute, so a busy page does not call Planning Center for every visitor.
Usage records. For each widget load we record the time, your account, the response time and whether it succeeded. We use these for the daily limit, reliability monitoring and support. They contain no information about your website’s visitors, and we keep them while your account is active.
Server logs. Like any website, our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, the page or file requested, and the time). They are used only for security and troubleshooting and are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Contact form and testimonials. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. If you send a testimonial, we receive your name, role, church, email address, rating, quote and, optionally, an image; we remove camera and location data from images. Your email address is used only to reach you and is never published. Nothing from a testimonial is published until we have emailed you a private preview.
Widget Builder cookies. The Widget Builder saves your API key in a browser cookie (pcow_builder_key) so you do not have to re-enter it on each visit. This is a functional cookie. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. We also store a consent acknowledgment cookie (pcow_cookie_ok).
Your Website’s Visitors
The widget on your website sets no cookies, uses no browser storage, and does not track or profile your visitors. When a visitor’s browser loads the widget, our server receives the ordinary request information any website receives (covered by the server logs above) and returns your events. Everything the widget displays comes from your own Planning Center calendar, filtered by the settings in your embed code.
How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate API requests from your embedded widget
- To fetch and display your church's Planning Center calendar events
- To send account email such as your welcome message, Planning Center reconnect notices, notices when you near or reach the free plan’s daily limit, and replies to your questions
- To send occasional product update emails about new widget features. Every one carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect account email.
- To send internal admin notifications when a new account is created
- To publish testimonials you have sent us and approved
- To enforce the daily limit and detect abuse
We do not sell your information. We do not use your information for advertising.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers in the United States (DigitalOcean). Your Planning Center connection is encrypted at rest. All connections use HTTPS.
Cookies
We use functional cookies only. No advertising or analytics cookies are set by PCOWidget. Here are the cookies we use:
- pcow_builder_key: stores your API key in the Widget Builder. Expires after 365 days. First-party only.
- pcow_cookie_ok: records that you acknowledged this cookie notice. Expires after 365 days. First-party only.
You can clear these at any time through your browser settings or by clicking "Clear" in the Widget Builder. The widget embedded on your website sets no cookies at all.
Third-Party Services
- Planning Center Online. We call Planning Center’s API on your behalf using your connection. Planning Center’s own privacy policy applies to data held in your Planning Center account.
- Google reCAPTCHA. The contact and testimonial forms use Google reCAPTCHA to stop spam. It collects information about the visitor’s browser and interaction and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Google Fonts. Some of our own pages load the Inter font from Google Fonts, which may log requests per Google’s privacy policy.
- Email delivery. Our email is sent through our mail provider, which processes the recipient address and message only to deliver it.
Your Rights
You may ask us for a copy of your account data, to correct it, or to delete your account and associated data at any time. We will remove your record within 30 days. You can stop product update emails with the unsubscribe link in any of them, or disconnect PCOWidget from your Planning Center account at any time in Planning Center’s settings.
